Um, yes... but the Bank is further up the street, to the left. Maybe this morning's torrential rain flooded the area below the above-mentioned grates and compromised the transformer. Or is this not...

I walk that block twice a day and based on the photo, the smoke is coming from a large set of grates in the ground flush to the side of the building. Seems likely that a transformer is to blame......
