The other 13 million settlement was from a different incident (April 2000 arrests, not Pershing Park). The Post blurb is deceptive: the Pershing Park case is the second-largest settlement of this kin...
I don't know about the new songs, but the old ones, as far as I remember, were Thera, Circle, River, Shooting Star, and Seaweed Rising. (I'm mildly obsessive about Versus. But I was really impressed ...
I read about half of this before looking to see who wrote it, and for a second, I thought it was "Brendan Canty" and I was like, talk about self-serving! Anyway this is my favorite Fugazi record, tho...
AVDC/Matthew Borlick actually did a good job with local listings and articles, but I can't say I'll really miss it too much. It's not like this town is lacking in newspapers, weeklies, and websites th...
i am ok with sharrows. they are just a little reminder that the lane is wide and bikes have the right to be there. i ride on sherman ave. all the time and i think sharrows would work fine. anything...

Not real keen on the idea of cash incentives. How about saving that money for those of us who already decided to live in the District, within 5 miles of where we work? There are a lot of better ways...
Very good album, but the liner notes are even better. Possibly the best album liner notes in history... I can't think of any better....
it's terribly nitpicky and nerdy to mention this, but you can't really discuss Mono as "pioneering" soft-loud post-rock dynamics compared to Mogwai, when Mogwai was doing it years earlier......
"Rossevelt" is embarrassing but "pneumonic advice" is pretty hilarious too as a stand-in for "mnemonic device". We all make these mistakes....
yeah it was a pretty stunning show, too bad the 930 Club seemed about half empty. people totally missed out....
this review is a little over the top in saying that Marnie Stern's sound is so unique. I haven't listened to her that much but she draws on a lot of sources including DC's own Orthrelm and related ba...
