Via NBCWashington.com, we’re sent to this link, which shows luxury items currently up for bid from a Texas auction house that is working with the U.S. Marshals Service to move all of infamous D.C. government embezzler Harriette Walters’ ill-gotten luxury goods.
The items aren’t clearly labeled as having belonged to Walters, however, so we’re not sure if all of them were hers, or only some of them. Most of the items are attributed to the “District of Maryland,” which doesn’t make a ton of sense. But the inventory, largely high-end Louis Vuitton handbags, certainly match earlier descriptions of the sorts of items investigators confiscated from Walters’ home.
The bag pictured, described as a “Louis Vuitton Leapord Polly Handbag,” can be yours for a current bid of only $1,325! Other items, like this Chanel wallet, can be had for more reasonable prices ($130).
Walters was sentenced in June to 17 1/5 years in prison for her role as the ringleader of a decades-long scheme that managed to pilfer roughly $50 million out of D.C.’s Office of Tax and Revenue.
More: There are also quite a few lots that include several pairs of designer women’s shoes, ranging in sizes from 8 1/2 to 10 1/2. I have no idea whether they were all for Walters, or if some of them were gifts — most of them are in the 9 1/2 to 10 range, so it stands to reason that Harriette has some big feet. But ladies, if your shoe size falls in this range, you may want to take a look.
