We had noted on Thursday that the Chain Bridge would have all three of its lanes open come Monday morning’s rush hour. But DDOT emailed this afternoon to tell us that rainy conditions have prevented crews from placing new pavement markings on the bridge which would have allowed for safe three-lane usage, although most of the other work is completed. If the weather stays dry, DDOT expects that the work will be finished by mid-week; but until then, the Bridge will still be full of those temporary barrels that have been there since January. Plan your morning commute accordingly.
