Inappropriate Twitter verb usage aside, Stephen Strasburg’s appearance on the Late Show with David Letterman went swimmingly. (Feel free to skip to the 1:00 mark to skip Letterman’s bloviating.) It’s heartening to see that the young man can poke some fun at himself — certainly a trait which will come in handy as he handles the mighty expectations on his shoulders.
Strasburg is also bolstering the national perception of our baseball club: the Nationals’ June 19 home game against the Chicago White Sox will now be shown exclusively on the Fox network. So not only is Strasburg a fantastic pitcher with a personable media presence, he’s also helping to reduce the amount of time our ears have to be exposed to Rob Dibble’s inane ramblings. Sheesh, what can’t this kid do?
