Albert HaynesworthAlbert Haynesworth doesn’t really want to play for the Redskins anymore. So says his agent, who told the Washington Post’s Redskins Insider blog that the defensive tackle wants off Mike Shanahan’s team, the day before the start of a mandatory two-day minicamp focusing in part on team chemistry. The Post:
“The Redskins are trying to establish a new regime with new schemes at Redskins Park, and it is not an organization that Albert would have ever been attracted to just a short year ago — regardless of the money,” agent Chad Speck said in a phone interview. “He has made it clear to me that he does not want to play for the Washington Redskins.”
To summarize: A man who received an NFL-record $41 million signing bonus — that’s guaranteed money for those who aren’t well versed in the NFL contracting system — and $28 million over the last 14 months now wants to walk away from the team because new coach Mike Shanahan wants to alter a defense that played a role in the team’s pitiful 4-12 record last season?
Boo-f’ing-hoo.
