Image courtesy WTTG.An incredibly large water main break is currently shooting water 100 feet into the air in Potomac this evening. (We sure hope that the owner of that house in the bottom right corner there has some good flood insurance.)
According to a NBCwashington.com report, a 24-inch water main broke in the 10800 block of Deep Glen Road earlier this afternoon. The Washington Suburban Sanitation Commission, fresh off fixing a cracked 96-inch main, are en route and trying to figure out how to fix the fountain.
It’s fairly stunning once you realize that this huge rush of water is coming from a main that’s only a quarter of the size of the broken one that had forced WSSC to institute water restrictions on 1.8 million people for several days.
