Photo from NOM’s Flickr page.GLAA Forum tips us off to what may well be the must-see summer tour of 2010 — the National Organization for Marriage’s Summer for Marriage Tour 2010.
Starting next week, the organization, which has lobbied against same-sex marriage across the country, will set off on a tour of the East coast and Midwest, hoping to better organize groups willing to fight to protect traditional marriage. Says the organization:
One week from today, NOM’s Summer for Marriage Tour 2010 will begin in Augusta, Maine, visiting 19 states and 23 cities over five weeks. Over these five weeks, we will meet thousands of Americans from across the eastern U.S. who are committed to protecting marriage in their own communities. And better yet, each person attending a Marriage Tour rally will be connected with others in his or her own hometown who can join together in making a difference.
Wait a second. “[E]ach person attending a Marriage Tour rally will be connected with others in his or her own hometown who can join together in making a difference”? “Join together”? Are they planning a series of mass heterosexual weddings? We don’t even want to know what the tour van will be used for.
