Kang. With his plans for job creation, his commitment to school reform and his promise of abortions for some and miniature American flags for others, Kang has captured our imaginations and our votes. As you cast your ballot for him tomorrow, remember what he’s promised us about progress in the District: “We must go forward, not backward. Upward, not forward. And always twirling, twirling, twirling towards freedom.” Wiser words have never been spoken.
Obviously, we’re just kidding. [Yes, please don’t write-in Kang tomorrow. I beg you. – Ed.]
But seriously, as a deluge of media endorsements have been made over the last few weeks, we’ve decided to maintain an editorial policy that we’ve had over the last six years — that is, we just don’t do ’em. DCist has always been a collective undertaking, and we’ve never opted to create something akin to an editorial board who would actually sit down and decide which candidates to support. It’s just not our thing. Over the course of this year’s campaign, we’ve tried to cover the ins and outs of the different races as evenhandedly as possible. Hopefully, that’s been of some use to you.
Tomorrow is the big day, so get out there and vote. If you’re not registered, fear not — the District allows you to register the day of. Any questions you may have about voting are best answered by our primer and the D.C. Board of Elections and Ethics. We’ll be out and about tomorrow covering the election, and we’ll bring you the results as they roll in.
Either way, just remember — vote Kang. [Yeah, again, please don’t. – Ed.]
