WTOP News reports that Mayor-apparent Vincent Gray is interested in starting a dialogue with President Barack Obama regarding the status of the District of Columbia. Obama, who retains his Illinois voter registration and continues to pay Illinois taxes, has previous indicated support for Congressional representation for the District. It’s unknown at this point what action the President could take to help speed things along, but if he were kind enough to switch his residency to the District, at least we’d see a small boost in tax receipts.
