The Washington Post unleashed a very cool little widget which keeps a real-time eye on how many of the system’s escalators. Today’s worst stations for those who hate climbing stairs? Union Station, Takoma and Shady Grove. (Rough day for you Red Liners, I guess.)

If you’re aiming for pinpoint and real time accuracy, we’d probably recommend sticking with the Post’s widget. But both are pretty neat ways to keep an eye on Metro’s escalator and elevator woes.
