There are plenty of people out there who believe that fighting in professional ice hockey is something of an unnecessary distraction from the natural ebb and flow of the game. I am not one of those people. That said, it is with pride that I present to you this excellent video of an epic fight between the Caps’ brilliantly-mustachioed John Erskine and Atlanta’s Eric Boulton during last night’s 6-4 Washington victory.

Not only is this fight just…fantastic, the YouTube video is courtesy user “hockeyfightsdotcom”: a website dedicated entirely to grading, analyzing and crowd-sourcing decisions hockey fights. (The fight above? A 9.4 out of 10.) Why haven’t any of you hockey fans told me about this glorious slice of the internet? My morning is shot now.
