She didn’t detail this whole business about reportedly going to work for incoming governor Rick Scott in Florida. But former D.C. schools chancellor Michelle Rhee appeared on The Colbert Report last night — and Colbert got right into it, breaking out Rhee’s infamous Time magazine cover and asking about to her fall from her perch as “King of Reform School Mountain.”

All Rhee had to say was that her boss, Mayor Adrian Fenty, lost the election. (We weren’t expecting a nuanced dissertation on the city’s various divides or anything, but…yeah.) Colbert then blasted through his usual shtick, asking Rhee if she approved of No Child Left Behind (she does, and added that she thought Bush did a “very good job” with NCLB) and thanking her for believing that George W. Bush was the best President ever. Rhee also ran through her usual routine, talking the teachers’ union, the union contract, and so on.

Of course, the exchange at the end — when the two joke about Rhee’s prospects of getting a job as a Colbert Report correspondent — is well worth watching the clip.
