The producers of Marion Barry’s reality show “Mayor for Life” — a project we last heard about when a pair of trailers were released in March — has uploaded the show’s pilot episode, in its entirety, to YouTube.

It’s actually not half-bad, though I can’t remember anyone ever arguing that Barry wouldn’t make for a fantastic reality show subject. Watch as Barry deals with the media firestorm after his censure, chats with various Councilmembers, hits the links and has a heart-to-heart with his son Christopher in the shadow of the Lincoln Memorial. The teaser montage at the end of the episode also includes a conversation between Barry and Mayor-elect Vince Gray, in which Gray, rather pointedly, asks Barry: “is your microphone on?” (Ooooh, the drama!)

Mike DeBonis reports that it’s unclear when or where the show will air on television, but that negotiations are ongoing. The second and third parts of the pilot — including a segment with Councilmembers Kwame Brown and Michael A. Brown which just had to be scripted and reshot — are after the jump for your viewing pleasure.
