Based on the comments we’ve seen, most of you find Metro’s random bag searches a) pointless, b) idiotic, c) a waste of time, or d) some combination of all of the above. So don’t let your opinions wallow in the internet ether — tell Metro how you feel during a public hearing! Metro’s Rider Advisory Council will hold a public meeting to solicit feedback from passengers about the searches on Monday, January 3, at 6:30 p.m. inside WMATA headquarters at 600 5th Street NW. According to WTOP, representatives from Metro Transit Police will be on hand to answer your questions about how temporarily turning away those who refuse a bag search is actually making the system any safer.
