Photo courtesy Lululemon.Montgomery County police are searching for more clues to help them identify two men who killed 30-year-old Jayna Murray and bound, beat and sexually assaulted another woman at the Lululemon store in Bethesda on Friday night. There were no surveillance cameras at the establishment, so police plan to canvass the area again today to try and find footage from surrounding stores on Bethesda Avenue which might help identify the suspects.
Murray and another woman were attacked shortly after closing the store on Friday night. The big break in the case for police might be the recollection of the second woman who was bound and sexually assaulted by the two men, but survived. The 27-year-old, who is currently recovering at a hospital, has been able to provide authorities with some eyewitness information regarding the attack; police have also been able to recover some evidence from the scene. There has also been a private $10,000 reward offered for information in the case.
Murray, by all accounts a vivacious woman who was pursuing an MBA at Johns Hopkins, is being mourned by many. A makeshift vigil has developed outside of the Lululemon storefront, featuring flowers and and small notes of remembrance. The Georgetown and Tysons Corner location of the upscale athletic apparel shop was also closed on Sunday.
