Photo by gwoyang. After the initial details that lead Montgomery County Police to arrest Brittany Norwood for the murder of her co-worker, Jayna Murphy – more details have emerged regarding why police arrested Norwood. The conflicting details that Norwood told the police during the aftermath of the supposed robbery on the Bethesda Lululemon store shed light Norwood’s arrest.
The Washington Post has the details: Norwood was found lying on a floor in the store’s restroom, her hands and feet bound with zip ties. The injuries Norwood had: scratches running parallel across her chest, stomach, and thighs were consistent with self-inflicted wounds. Then came the way she was posed in the bathroom: her hands above her head, indicated that she had posed herself.
However, the most unbelievable part of Norwood’s story involved moving Murray’s car during the robbery. When police asked if Norwood had moved Murray’s car, she said she had. Norwood told police that the two robbers had let her leave the store to move the car but told her to come back in 10 minutes or they would kill her. Even more hard to believe, Norwood told police that as she was moving the car, she saw a police officer but said nothing to him.
While Norwood’s motive is still unclear, police are looking into the possibility the killing stemmed from Norwood being suspected of stealing merchandise from the store. At this time, however, police haven’t ruled out any other motives.
