Today, the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors approved names for some of the stations along the under-construction Dulles Corridor Metrorail Project. The names still have to go to the WMATA board for approval — and while they generally meet the requirements, those who aren’t fans of long, dash interrupted names will probably be disappointed with the selections of the board.   • Placeholder: Tysons Central 123 Suggested Name: Tysons I&II
  • Placeholder: Tysons Central 7 Suggested Name: Tysons Central
  • Placeholder: Tysons West Suggested Name: Tysons-Spring Hill Road
  • Placeholder: Wiehle Avenue Suggested Name: Reston-Wiehle Avenue
  • Placeholder: Reston Parkway Suggested Name: Reston Town Center
  • Placeholder: Herndon-Monroe Suggested Name: Herndon-Reston West
  • Placeholder: Route 28 Suggested Name: Herndon-Dulles East

Also: those are some mighty similar station names. Would a little variety have been too much to ask?
