With Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) admitting this morning that the government “looks like it’s headed in that direction” with regard to a full government shutdown — and Republicans apparently tying the elimination of “policy riders” like the funding of Planned Parenthood to proceeding with negotiations — this document, released by the Vince Gray administration yesterday and outlining precisely what has been deemed “essential” during a federal shutdown inside the District, might just come in handy.

We ran down the highlights yesterday, but there are some other services that have so far flown under the radar of yesterday’s parking-fueled frenzy. (Mayor Gray did address parking this morning though, telling WTOP that residents would be able to “park with impunity” during a shutdown, but adding that police will still be ticketing and towing.) For example, “limited unemployment benefits” will continue during a shutdown, and residents can call 311 starting on Friday if they have questions regarding the status of city services.
