Holy squee. The National Zoo is celebrating the arrival of two clouded leopard cubs which were born on Monday, March 28 at the Smithsonian Conservation Biology Institute (SCBI) in Front Royal, Virginia. (Sorry, anteater naming ceremony — you’ve been bumped.) It’s the second year in a row that the Zoo has welcomed two new clouded leopard cubs to their menagerie, a real boon considering that the species is considered incredibly vulnerable to extinction. Fewer than 10,000 clouded leopards are estimated to remain in the wild, but more than 70 have been born at the Front Royal facility over the last 30 years.
Now — who’s got $65 I can borrow?
