According to the Metropolitan Police Department, at least two men were shot near the southern entrance of the Shaw-Howard University Metro station around 2:15 p.m. this afternoon. Both men are still alive and were transported to Howard University Hospital with gunshot wounds to the arm and leg, respectively. (Another individual may have also been shot, but that has not yet been confirmed by authorities.) Police are searching for a suspect in the shootings, though witnesses have told ABC7 and Prince of Petworth that between 8 and 15 shots may have been fired and that “a car peeled out down west down R [Street].”
