UPDATE (3:15 p.m.): According to Pepco, a large snake is blamed for the electricity outage this morning. Apparently, the snake became stuck at a substation, was electrocuted and interrupted service to customers.

UPDATE: Pepco reports that power was restored to customers at approximately 1 p.m.

People with electric stoves, planning to cook their Easter dinner in Prince George’s County, are mighty unhappy right now. Pepco says that 6,903 people are currently without power in the Maryland county. It appears that the outages are centered in the Upper Marlboro and Marlton areas.
