Earlier today, we suggested that someone from the Council’s subpoena-serving office get down to Moultrie Courthouse, where Sulaimon Brown was to testify this afternoon. Turns out that wasn’t necessary: Brown voluntarily said he’d testify during the hearing, reports Mike DeBonis. He’ll appear June 6.

According to DeBonis’ report, Brown also told Superior Court Judge Judith Macaluso that he had “no interest in sitting [in front of the Council] for 5, 6, 7, 8 hours.” When Macaluso responded that she couldn’t “prejudge” how long Mary Cheh’s government operations committee would grill Brown (we’re guessing it’ll be a long time), Brown told the judge: “I’m in a position to prejudge because I’m unemployed.” Brown also told the press that had gathered that he found the Council’s process “harassing,” and admitted to Macaluso that he “watch[es] a lot of Judge Judy.”

Note to self: stock up on popcorn before next Monday.
