According to a press release from developer Forest City Washington, the mixed-use project — located mere blocks from the Navy Yard Metro station — will feature a brand new Harris Teeter, Potbelly, Kruba Thai and Sushi (a new restaurant from the owners of Regent Thai), Austin Grill Express, brb — be right burger, Huey’s 24/7 Diner, Buzz Bakery (featuring the creations of RAMMY-award winner Tiffany MacIsaac), and an as-yet-unnamed “innovative, new craft brewery” from the people behind Churchkey. In total, the announcement represents approximately 70,000 square feet of commercial space.
The grocery store is expected to open in 2013, while the restaurants should open sometime next year. The first residential portion of the development will open this fall.
