UPDATE: We’ve gotten confirmation now that the fire did indeed break out inside the building containing Hook at 3241 M Street NW. No injuries have been reported, and firefighters have put out most of the fire; smoke and water damage have also been reported at Tackle Box Restaurant and Saloon. M Street has been shut down due to the fire, so if you’re driving or busing through Georgetown, plan another route. More details when we get them, of course.

D.C. Fire and EMS crews have been dispatched to the scene of a large blaze on the 3200 block of M Street NW in Georgetown — the fire is reportedly located on the roof of a commercial building and is producing quite a large amount of smoke. It appears that the fire is coming from the building which holds Hook restaurant. DCist’s Martin Austermuhle is currently on the scene; we’ll report more details as they become available.
