On Friday, Maryland Governor Martin O’Malley delivered an address in which he announced he would sponsor a bill to allow same sex marriage in the state. Of course, one can’t help but think this show of support might have been a little more helpful when an attempt to pass such a measure surprisingly unraveled at the very last minute earlier this spring, as it’s widely assumed that O’Malley’s presence probably would have pushed the measure into law.
