A group of five teenagers reportedly broke into and ransacked a D.C. firehouse while firefighters were on a call Tuesday morning. According to the Examiner, the teenagers waited until Engine 33 was called to the scene of a fire at 1720 Savannah Street SE to make their move — they proceeded to make a mess of the desk and steal a large amount of personal property, a uniform and even took one of the firefighter’s BMW’s for a joyride. (The car was eventually recovered a short distance away.)
There have not been any arrests yet in the crime, though fire stations usually have pretty decent surveillance equipment at their disposal.
