State and federal records show that since the 5.8-magnitude earthquake that shook the region this August, Virginia has experienced 50 aftershocks.

The shocks ranged from 1.8 to 4.5, and the latest aftershock measured 2.1 on the Richter scale Monday.

The August earthquake’s epicenter was in Mineral. Gov. Bob McDonnell recently secured federal disaster aid for residents of the 1,404 homes in Louisa County that suffered damage from the quake.
