Plenty of folks still want to know one simple thing — where are the H Street NE streetcars going to end up?
The City Paper’s Lydia DePillis has one hint today. It looks like the D.C. Department of Transportation has settled on two options for the western terminus of the H Street NE line.
In one scenario, the streetcar would turn south on Third Street NE, west on G Street NE and up Second Street NE, ending up a block shy of Union Station. In a second scenario, the streetcar would simply head over the Hopscotch Bridge and drop passengers off just north of Union Station.
If you want more exact details, next week Mayor Vince Gray with DDOT Director Terry Bellamy will appear at an even on Capitol Hill next Tuesday to field questions on the H Street NE segment, which is expected to be up-and-running in 2013. The event will take place at the Atlas Theater (1333 H Street NE) on Tuesday from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m.
