More rankings to report this week.

According to a study by Central Connecticut State University, in 2011 the District was ranked as the country’s most literate city, beating out Seattle, Minneapolis, Atlanta and Boston. The ranking was based on newspaper circulation, bookstores, libraries, periodical publishing resources, educational attainment and Internet resources.

And according to online engagement firm Convio, the District ranked as the third most generous city in the country, giving less in per capita online donations than only Seattle and Alexandria and just beating out Arlington.

Over the last two weeks, we’ve been ranked as intolerant and rude. On the plus side, we were given some props for our museums and cultural offerings, our efforts to improve cycling and walking, and our own inflated sense of intelligence.
