The lush, pastoral electronica of San Francisco’s Scott Hansen — a.k.a. Catch him at the Rock and Roll Hotel on Thursday, with Beacon opening. $15. 8:30 p.m.
>> 9:30 Club: The Kills, JEFF the Brotherhood, Hunters. Sold out. 7 p.m.

FRIDAY
Canadian singer-songwriter Kathleen Edwards has garnered renewed attention with her 2011 single “Wapusk” and her just-issued fourth LP Voyageur, in part because of her collaboration with Bon Iver’s Justin Vernon, who produced and performs on both records. Edwards will have the spotlight all to her self when she headlines the 9:30 Club on Friday night, sharing new songs like “Change the Sheets” and “Sidecar,” which dial back the country tinges of her earlier work in favor of a crisp, folk-pop sound. Hannah Georgas opens. $22. 7 p.m.
>> U Street Music Hall: Red Baraat. $15. 7 p.m.
>> Velvet Lounge: Ice Cream, Last Tide, The Young Ladies. $8. 9:30 p.m.
