If you didn’t have anything better to do Saturday, perhaps you were on Capitol Hill running around in your skivvies. Cupid’s Undie Run, a barely-clad race held in Washington and five other cities on or around Valentine’s Day, brought several hundred people willing to bare nearly all and trot down a 1.5-mile path.
OK, it was all for a good cause. Cupid’s Undie Run raises money for the Children’s Tumor Foundation, an organization devoted to fighting and developing a cure for neurofibromatosis, a genetic disorder that causes tumors to grow on nerves throughout the body that can cause blindness, deafness, learning disabilities and chronic pain.
Photographer Kevin Carroll was there Saturday, capturing people’s exposed and mobile bodies as they made their way around the course. And despite wearing little more than seasonally appropriate scarlet undergarments, the people participating in the run didn’t seem to mind the bristly mid-30s temperatures.
