D.C. Del. Eleanor Holmes Norton joined Rep. Carol Maloney (D-NY) in walking out of a House Oversight Committee hearing this morning on a new regulation requiring employers and insurers to provide contraception coverage to their employees. Think Progress writes that Norton and Maloney walked out after Rep. Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) refused to include a female Georgetown law student on the first panel.

There are two women on a second panel, but both are opposed to employers being forced to offer contraceptives to their employees as part of health insurance coverage. John Garvey, the president of Catholic University, will also testify on the second panel.
