For anyone who has ever complained that there isn’t a conveniently located Chick-fil-A anywhere within the District—the sole outlet is at Catholic University—there’s some good news today. NBC4 is reporting that the chicken purveyor is launching a food truck in D.C. on April 9, bringing its much-loved chicken sandwiches and waffle fries directly to the masses. (Except on Sundays, of course.)
The news marks a shift in the food truck industry in D.C., as more and more chains are jumping on to the bandwagon, star chefs are getting in on the act and independently owned trucks are establishing brick-and-mortar locations.
UPDATE, 12:05 p.m.: Wonder what Cleveland Park’s Dino—and plenty of other folks—think of Chick-fil-A?
