Councilmember Vincent Orange (D-At Large) took political theatrics to a new high (or low, depending on your opinion on him) during a session on Wednesday, angrily declaring “I’m the best!” during a debate in which he nominated himself for the D.C. Council’s second-highest post. The performance was such that Councilmember Mary Cheh (D-Ward 3) indirectly called Orange “quite histrionic” during a WAMU interview this morning.
So this afternoon on The Kojo Nnamdi Show, producer Mike Martinez put Orange’s theatrics to music, mashing up his choicest quotes with the music from the 1980s classic The Karate Kid. The last time they did this, it was Sulaimon Brown put to “Sunglasses at Night.”
Cobra Kai, meet D.C. politics.
