Tuesday

The local duo Pleasure Curses are an electro-pop band you need to know. Their catchy tracks mix shoegaze and synth-pop on a sweet post-chillwave bent. The band released an EP last fall and are sure to rock DC9 out tonight. Nightpanther and Lenorable open. $8, 8 p.m.

Wednesday

Thao Nguyen of Thao and The Get Down Stay Down may no longer be a local act, but she still holds a special place in many D.C. music fans’ hearts. Her latest album, We The Common is not only the band’s most expansive, but their best. Nguyen and her band are playing the Black Cat and it is sure to be a rowdy time. Sallie Ford and The Sound Outside opens. $17, 8 p.m.

Thursday

Haerts, a multinational five-piece group, made waves with their single “Wings.” The band hasn’t released any more music but they band signed a record deal on the strength of that one song. Go see what all the fuss is about when they play the U Street Muisc Hall opening for Breakbot. Irfane also opens. $15, 10 p.m.

The multi-instrumentalist Sinkane has toured with Caribou and Yeasayer, but he saves his best work for himself. His debut album is full of warm funk, afro-pop, and other curveball turns, and he is sure to pelase when he hits the Black Cat backstage.Ra Ra Rasputin and Helado Negro open. $12., 9 p.m.

Saturday

The Australian four-piece band San Cisco gained a lot of buzz at home and are now taking their surf-pop sounds to our shores. Having released their debut record on Fat Possum, the band went on tour with the highly buzzed Vaccines and are starting their own headlining tour with a stop at the Rock and Roll Hotel. Chaos Chaosopens. $12, 8 p.m.

Sunday

IO ECHO the duo of Ionna Gika and Leopold Ross create what some are calling “grunge goth.” Heavily inspired by bands like Nine Inch Nails and their current tourmates Garbage, the band is on the cusp of breaking through. Come early and see them at Fillmore Silver Spring. $35, 8 p.m.
