The Metropolitan Police Department has released the final names of all 12 victims of yesterday’s Navy Yard shooting.
Police say members of the First District received a report of the sound of gunshots at Naval Sea Systems Command headquarters in Southeast D.C. at 8:23 a.m. “Upon their arrival, First District and Special Operations Division members were directed to Building 197, for the report of an ‘Active Shooter,'” according to a release. “Active Shooter team assembled, and began a search of the building for victims and the suspect.”
The 12 victims were shot to death in the lobby and on third and fourth floors of of Building 197. The alleged shooter, Aaron Alexis, was located in the building, “and after firing multiple rounds at law enforcement members, he was shot to death by officers.”
There is still not known motive at this time. The FBI has taken the lead on the case, while MPD is assisting.

53 year-old Sylvia Frasier of Waldorf, Md.
62 year-old Kathy Gaarde of Woodbridge, Va.
73 year-old John Roger Johnson of Derwood, Md.
50 year-old Frank Kohler of Tall Timbers, Md.
46 year-old Kenneth Bernard Proctor of Waldorf, Md.
61 year-old Vishnu Shalchendia Pandit of North Potomac, Md.
51 year-old Arthur Daniels of Southeast, Washington, D.C.
51 year-old Mary Francis Knight of Reston, Va.
58 year-old Gerald L. Read of Alexandria, Va.
54 year-old Martin Bodrog of Annandale, Va.
52 year old Richard Michael Ridgell of Westminster, Md.
