With the government shutdown over, the Marine Corps Marathon will go on as scheduled next weekend.
Lt. Dave Green of the Arlington County Police Department first raised alarm bells to ARL Now when he said the October 27 race was “probably not going to happen” if the shutdown continued past Friday. The problem stemmed, in part, from the race’s course, which takes place on quite a bit of National Park Service property.
