Heads up to anyone who’s planning on taking the Red Line this morning: Don’t.
For the two hours this morning, trains were single tracking between Judiciary Square and Rhode Island Avenue “due to a track problem outside Union Station,” according to a tweet from WMATA. “Fluid leaked from a piece of maintenance equipment,” according to a Metro spokesperson. “Trains were single tracking around it.”
As of 8:30 a.m., trains were single tracking between the Judiciary Square and NoMA-Gallaudet stations. By 8:45, trains were no longer single tracking but delays were still expected.
Red Line: No longer single tracking btwn NoMa-Gallaudet & Judiciary Square. Delays continue in both directions.

Ooh the red line is running 15 minutes between trains. People are remarkably calm for how late we’re going to be. pic.twitter.com/Q7tyJz3Xdq

Three trains and 1 1/2 hours later, I finally made it to work. Usually takes 20 min. Thanks for nothing #wmata.
