If you had the chance to say anything to Dan Snyder’s face, it probably wouldn’t be very nice, would it? And if you were a comedian, the opportunity to roast him would be a once-in-a-lifetime experience. The Holy Grail of roasts, basically.
Well, thanks to Capital City Showcase—a local variety and comedy show—some local comedians will have the opportunity to do just that. The showcase is hosting a roast of the Washington football team owner on February 4th. Well, kind of.
Of course the actual Dan Snyder will not be present so that local comedians can make fun of how awful he is. Instead another local comedian—Adam Friedland—is “playing” Snyder, while comedians Jamel Johnson, Pat Riley, and David Tveite mercilessly rip into him. The whole thing is the first in a new month series called The DMV Roast, where local comedians band together to roast various D.C. public figures, sports teams, and current events. It’ll take place the first Tuesday of every month at The Brixton (901 U Street NW) at 8 p.m. for free.
It’s the closest we’ll ever get to publicly shaming Snyder to his face, so bask in the catharsis while you can. Who knows, Snyder might sue.
