Look, you should probably shop at your local record store every weekend, but you should especially do it tomorrow, because it’s Record Store Day. It’s a pretty incredible thing that vinyl sales are steadily rising in a day and age where people don’t want to pay for music, and that alone is worth celebrating.

But beyond that, the D.C. area is home to some great record stores run by some equally great people and what better way to celebrate that than Record Store Day? There is none. Like every year, there’s a fuck ton of exclusive releases for Record Store Day that will be sold in limited quantities. Everyone will be vying after them, but only the early risers will be successful. You can see the full list of RSD 2014 releases here, but be forewarned: not every store will carry all of these titles, and most stores won’t know what they get until they open the boxes.

Nevertheless, most D.C. area record stores will be celebrating RSD 2014 in their own special way. For your convenience, here’s a rundown of what’s going on:

Smash Records
2314 18th Street NW

So far, the only thing we know about Smash’s Record Store Day plans is that they’re opening early, at 10 a.m. On their Facebook page, it says exclusive Record Store Day titles are coming in they’ll update with the specific titles sometime tonight, so keep an eye out for that. They also say that they’re celebrating their anniversary, ” 7 years or 30 years depending on how you look at it,” so maybe something special is going on?

Joint Custody
1530 U Street NW

Joint Custody will be celebrating Record Store Day in style with an all day party. They’ll be giving away free Rare Esseence 45’s for the first 50 customers. 10 percent off all used record purchases, a bunch of Record Store Day exclusives (which you can see here), a keg of root beer (!), free candy, and “various other gems.”

And on Sunday, they’ll continue Record Store Day celebrations as writer Sam McPheeters will be in store signing copies of his new book, The Loom of Ruin. There will also be a pizza party, which is always fun.

Red Onion
190118th Street NW

The venerable Red Onion Records will be opening a bit early—at 11 a.m.—and they’ve got a whole host of Record Store Day exclusives that they’ll be selling. Check out the full list here.

Crooked Beat
2116 18th Street NW

Crooked Beat is throwing quite the soiree tomorrow. The store will open its doors at 9 a.m. (8 a.m. for Crooked Beat Frequent Customers) and the first 75 (paying) customers will get a Crooked Beat tote bag. The first 100 (paying) customers will get a bunch of free goodies, including a grab bag with “new promo and used CDs, stickers, buttons, vintage 7″s, magnets, posters, keychains,” and more.

Like every other store, Crooked Beat will be getting a whole load of Record Store Day exclusive releases. Of the 500 RSD titles, they “expect to carry around close to 400 of them,” but like every other store, they’ll have very limited quantities of each one.

Last month, Crooked Beat announced that they’re making the jump from record store to record label and tomorrow they’ll have their first label release out: a 7″ from local punk outfit Möbius Strip. To celebrate, Möbius Strip will do an in-store performance with local post-punk band BRNDA, who just released their excellent debut record. Starts at 7 p.m. Correction: That happened Tuesday. My bad.

Som Records
1843 14th Street NW

Som will carry a select (but as of yet unknown) number of Record Store Day exclusive releases. They’ll be open at noon.

Joe’s Record Paradise
8216 Georgia Avenue, Silver Spring, Md.

Lots going at Joe’s Record Paradise tomorrow. In addition to whatever RSD exclusives they’ll have for sale, they’ll have DJs spinning all day long, starting at 11 a.m. Check out the full lineup here.

Legendary D.C. blues-jazz-funk fusion band The Blackbyrds (all original members!) will be in the store from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. signing autographs and taking photos. They’ll also have their newest CD for sale.

Finally, Joe’s will have tickets to a number of upcoming shows at The Howard Theater that they’ll be raffling off all day.

CD Cellar (Arlington and Falls Church)
2607 Wilson Boulevard, Arlington, Va. & 709 W. Broad Street, Falls Church, Va

Both CD Cellar locations will be getting a bunch of RSD exclusives in. Like most places the titles and quantities are random, but they’ve been posting what they get on their Facebook page, so check it out.

The Record Exchange
8236 Georgia Avenue, Silver Spring, Md.

Silver Spring’s The Record Exchange will be opening at 10 a.m. In addition to free stuff for early shoppers and the usual random assortment of RSD exclusive releases, all used items will be 20 percent off all weekend.

Hill & Dale Records
1054 31st Street NW

D.C.’s newest record store, Hill & Dale, is celebrating their first Record Store Day by opening early and closing late. They’ll be open at 10 a.m. and will close around 9 p.m. On their website, they say they’ve “ordered most of the exclusive RSD titles,” but they don’t know which one they’ll actually receive. You can see the full list of potential titles they’ll have here.

Oh, and for your convenience, here’s a map of where all these stores are. (Spoiler alert: most of them are walking distance from each other).
