A 20-year-old Maryland man suspected in a series of “bottle bomb” incidents at area movie theaters was arrested this weekend.

Manuel Joyner of Bowie was charged with manufacture, possession and detonation of a destructive device, according to Prince George’s County police. Joyner allegedly set off a “bottle bomb” inside the Magic Johnson Movie Theatre in Largo on May 24.

“Additional charges against Joyner are forthcoming not only from Prince George’s County, but from other agencies and jurisdictions as well,” according to a release. Other similar incidents occurred in May at AMC theaters in Alexandria and Tysons Corner.

Police from several jurisdictions will hold a press conference this afternoon.
