The Metropolitan Police Department is investigating a string of recent sexual assaults over the past week that may be related.
According to MPD, three incidents occurred over a four-day span in Northwest D.C. In each case, the suspect is described as a Hispanic male in his mid-twenties to early-thirties.
The first incident occurred on Wednesday, August 20 at approximately 2:03 a.m. on the 1700 block of Kenyon Street NW. Police say the suspect attempted to engage a woman in conversation while she was walking on Mt. Pleasant Street NW. When she turned onto Kenyon Street, the suspect followed her and reportedly put his arms around her and groped her under her clothing. In this incident, the suspect was described as a Hispanic male with long dark hair and approximately 26 to 32 years old.
Via MPD.On Saturday, August 23, a woman was assaulted while walking on the 1300 block of Oak Street NW. The suspect reportedly approached her from behind with a knife, grabbed her around the neck and groped her under her clothing. According to police, the victim struggled with the suspect and was stabbed during the altercation. In this incident, the suspect is described as a Hispanic male in his late-twenties to early-thirties, with a stocky build, clean shaven, short hair, and wearing a blue, green, and white polka dot button-down collar shirt, and a red, black, and white Chicago Bulls baseball cap. Finally, early Sunday morning, at approximately 3:10 a.m., a woman walking in an alley near the 1700 block of Park Road NW was approached by a suspect, who put his arms around her waist and groped her. Police say that the victim was able to flee and call for help. In this incident, the suspect is described as a Hispanic male in mid-twenties, 5’4″, black gelled back hair, and wearing a black short sleeve polo shirt and blue jeans.
Police are asking anyone with information to call 202-727-9099, 911, or submit an anonymous tip via text message to 50411. A reward of up to $1,000 will be awarded to anyone who provides information leading to an arrest.
