Nearly 10,000 people have already signed a Change.org petition, urging the tabloid site to change the headline: “We want his legacy to be honored the right way. Show respect to his family friends and supporters.”

Mourners will gather at Barry’s Talbert Street SE home at 5 p.m. for a vigil that will move to the Big Chair. Details for a public memorial service have yet to be released, but Barry’s body will likely lie in state at the Wilson Building, according to Council Chair Phil Mendelson.
