A woman has been arrested and charged in connection to the stabbing death of a D.C. lawyer in a downtown hotel.

30-year-old David Messerschmitt—an intellectual-property attorney for the Washington office of law firm DLA Piper—was found stabbed to death on Tuesday, February 10, just after 11 a.am. at the Donovan Hotel in Thomas Circle.

The Metropolitan Police Department announced that they arrested 21-year-old Jamyra Gallmon yesterday in connection to the murder and are charging her with first degree felony murder while armed.

In a statement, Messerschmitt’s wife, Kim Vuong said that she has “faith that the police and the courts will bring justice to David and all who loved him,” and asked for privacy for her and her family until the case is resolved.
