Metro Transit Police are looking to identify the person who punched a 69-year-old man at the top of an escalator bank at the Eastern Market Metro station.
The victim reported being pushed by an unknown man as he exited a Metro train on Friday afternoon, police said. The pair argued at the top of the escalator, which wasn’t moving, and the assailant appeared to spit in the victim’s face before punching him. The victim then fell backward and the assailant walked away, surveillance video shows.
The victim was transported to the hospital to treat injuries to his face, police said.
