Four people have died and seven other were wounded in a number of violent incidents that occurred throughout the District over Memorial Day weekend.
On Friday, May 22, at about 12:22 p.m., police responded to the intersection of 18th and H Streets NE for reports of a stabbing. Upon arrival, they then went to the 400 block of Oklahoma Avenue NE, where the stabbing victim was reported to be. When they arrived, they found an adult male—identified as 24-year-old Stephon Demarrio Clark of Bowie, Md.—suffering from multiple stab wounds. He was transported to a nearby hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
Later that evening, at about 1:10 a.m. on Saturday, May 23, police responded to reports of a shooting in the 2300 block of Irving Street SE. When units arrived, they found an adult male and an adult female suffering from gunshot wounds. Both victims were transported to the hospital where the male, 29-year-old Anthony Andre Osgood of SE D.C., died from his injuries.
Devonte Reed, a 20-year-old from Lanham, Md., was shot and killed Sunday evening at about 9 p.m. on the 500 block of 58th Street NE. According to police, another man was wounded in the same incident and an arrest has been made.
The fourth person who died over the weekend was a woman—as of yet unidentified—in a shooting that occurred in Shaw, in the 700 block of O Street NW. The Post reports that the shooting occurred at about 9 p.m. last night and the suspect was last seen on a dirt bike after the incident. The woman succumbed to her injuries this morning.
Another shooting occurred in the Brightwood neighborhood, in the 900 block of Gallatin Street NW at about 3:20 a.m. Two people suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
