Of course, everyone expected the Kennedy Center’s eagerly-anticipated Kendrick Lamar and National Symphony Orchestra concert to be a must-see. But the limited amount of tickets available for the public today was depleted in 10 minutes—and the Kennedy Center ended up apologizing.
Tickets went on sale to Kennedy Center members yesterday and “sold out” in less than half an hour. After the predictable outrage, the venue “found” tickets for the public for second day sales. Less than 10 minutes after they went up this morning, the venue tweeted that they’d sold out again.
Thank you all for your support, patience, and interest. @KendrickLamar is sold out. Check w/ the Box Office for last-minute availability.

As badly as the Kennedy Center feels, the venue isn’t sorry enough to book a second show. Tough luck, BabyKeezus.
@BabyKeezus We’re so sorry for the whirlwind. Unfortunately, there are no plans for a second concert.

Tickets on Stubhub are starting at $289. But Kendrick Lamar fans, you’re not the only ones having trouble with the Kennedy Center’s ticketing:
@rlbrown1791 @BenFolds We’re sorry the website is being difficult. Could you send us a DM w/ more details so we can help you get seats?
