He officially looks like a panda, and he officially has a name, and now he can even see and hear. Kind of.
Zookeepers did a check-up on on their month and a half-old cub last week. They found Bei Bei weighing in at 4.5 pounds and measuring 33 centimeters. His eyes are partially open and while his ear canals remain closed, the zoo says he can likely hear some noise.
Most importantly, though, there is no question that he has passed the knock-off stuffed animal phase.
