If/when you’ve overindulged in the candy booze this Halloween, please call Sober Rides to get your wobbly self home—at no cost.
Between 10:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 31st through 4:00 a.m., anyone who is 21 or older can utilize the Washington Regional Alcohol Program service, which has been working to keep drunk drivers off the road during holidays for more than 20 years.
Give 1-800-200-TAXI (if you have AT&T, apparently you can just dial #WRAP) for a free ride, up to $30, pretty much anywhere in the area. D.C.; the Maryland counties of Montgomery and Prince George’s; and the Northern Virginia counties of Arlington, Fairfax, (eastern) Loudoun, and Prince William are all included.
“The scary fact is that nearly half (43 percent) of all U.S. traffic deaths occurring during Halloween are caused by drunk drivers,” said Kurt Gregory Erickson, WRAP’s president.
